First Year Seminar Information Literacy Library Instruction: Finding information about a day in history

In this activity, you will learn how to locate articles in the Historical New York Times. I will show you how to access this library research tool. Your task is to explore this search tool and determine how to do the following the Advanced Search screen:

How do you:

• Search for a specific date or date range?
• Search only for specific types of articles, such as front page articles?

Take notes on how you would accomplish the above tasks. I am going to call on volunteers to demonstrate these skills to the class. Be prepared to show off!
